Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma will not be available for 1st two test matches. Participation in test 3 and 4 depend on the swift decision from BCCI, both of them suffered injuries during the IPL 2020. Ishant Sharma already started bowling, but the injury was still a concern. He hadn’t timed for practice; he needs to fly to Australia immediately, he can start training in Australia after 2 weeks because of quarantine. It will hold the third test on Jan 7 in Sydney. Rohit a while away from full fitness can travel in early Dec. He suffered a hamstring tear during IPL 2020 but played the Final. Rohit has been ruled out of ODIs and T20 already. If the whole bubble goes to the other bubble, it decreases the risk of coronavirus, so they allow for practice. And there is no relaxation for anyone because they went to India and didn’t fly with the team. And now they are not available. Virat and Rohit cannot play 2nd test, Ishant will miss it too. This is the perfect chance for Iyer and Navdeep Saini to grab the opportunities. India has to defend the Border Gavaskar trophy but without Virat, Rohit, and Ishant it will be difficult to do so.

Note: Virat is on parental leave he will not be available after 1st test but he will play ODIs and T20s.
